I'm famous! *Beat* Well, sort of.
As you all know, I write for The Hathor Legacy about once a week.

I enjoy it, but every so often I wonder if my voice is really out there. I mean, it is, but when you get no or few comments on something, you occasionally assume that means that people passed it by. Nothing that makes me bitter, mind, but just a statement of how my mind works. Similar to not having anyone comment to one of my LJ posts.

Anyway, imagine my shock as I learned that I was cited at Pretty, Fizzy Paradise in the article Second Carnival of Feminist Science Fiction and Fantasy Fans.

*Beams* It's always nice to be proven wrong in a good way.

Current Mood: giddy giddy

Actually, no, I did not know. :D

But congratulations ne'ertheless. ^_^

Oh. Well, I've talked about it before! I blame you for not noticing. ^_~

Thanks for the grats! ^_^

I have a strict policy to not notice everything, that way I continually get little surprises.

Between that, my short attention span, and my raven-like tendancy for shiny objects, I've always got an, "Oh, wow! Really?" moment handy.

We were separated at birth, I tell you! ^_~

... Though I'm not really sure where this raven thing came from. Did you meet one that noted something very shiny and so, in turn, didn't peck out your eyes?

I do know parrots like shiny things, the little bastards. One went right for my ear to get at my earring once!

Oh, god, birds love shiny crap, ROFL. You just Do Not Wear jewelry around them, if you like the pieces of you the jewelry is attached to.

I think this is why Argh, Matey (TM) Pirates only wore one earring. The parrot was on the other shoulder.

Ah, okay, so that's not just parrots, but birds in general. Got it. Makes sense!
betacandy From: betacandy Date: July 20th, 2006 10:30 pm (UTC) (Link)
As far as I know, it's all birds, though there could be exceptions.

Parrots are really just human pre-schooler brains living in feathered, winged bodies anyway. They're so much like little kids, it's not even funny.

LOL, I like your attitude. I make a point never to remember how a TV show or movie turned out, so I can watch it again and again, until it finally sinks in once and for all. *g*

Ifritah, you actually get a pretty good amount of comments on Hathor, usually. We all have the occasional article that gets ignored. We just need about 8,000 more people showing up every hour. Then we'd be stylin'! ;)
malakim From: malakim Date: July 20th, 2006 01:33 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thank you. ^_^ I try to keep a positive attitude and an open mind.

Sometimes my mind is too open and things sneak out. ._.

But that just leads to more surprises! :D
ifritah From: ifritah Date: July 20th, 2006 08:41 pm (UTC) (Link)
Oh, I know I get comments on Hathor. I guess what I was trying to say is it was rather shocking to be noted for an article that didn't have any comments.

Just showing that it proves that people do read things, but they don't always have something to say. Which is, yeah, obvious, but it's not to have a reminder.
betacandy From: betacandy Date: July 20th, 2006 09:27 pm (UTC) (Link)
Oh, yeah, it's very cool to have confirmation someone's reading. I wasn't trying to contradict you - just wanted to be encouraging. :)

Congratulations! That's so cool! That was smart of them to cite your work.
