Make the pop-ups STOP!
Does anyone know of a good program that'll stop pop-ups? Ever since yesterday, they've been TERRIBLE!

Here's a comment even though I refuse to work with you. whahahaha

I've been getting a whole bunch of those grey text popups that aol can't block and 90% of them are for sites that say they stop popups. But I don't trust the irritating little bastards.

*Sniff* You hate me!

And BLAH! Pop-ups are EVIL! ... And so is AOL, so at least I only have to deal with one of them.

If you use internet explorer, the Google bar is supposed to stop popups pretty well.

For Netscape/Mozilla/Mozilla Firebird, it has that built in in the preferences.

AOL stops regular popups on the toolbar. But those grey popups are a little harder. . .

Huh...I have yet to run into grey popups...

Guess I will have to take your word for it, otherwise it's just one of those myths. ;)

Or Mozilla is really good and blocks everything.

What type of popups are we talking here? The Advertisments in IE or those little Windows Messenger things that send you a message anda ll you can do is hit OK?

Every time I open up Internet Explorer I get bombarded with about four of them. Three are just advertisement things for spyware, etc. It's the forth one that's really pissing me off.

It's a beige screen that has no close window. It's just there. The only way I can get it off is to Control, Alt, Delete and close it that way. Ugh!

First, Go Here

Download the software there, i recommend from download.com.

Then install it, and run it.

Click the 'Online' tab first, and search for and download the update.

Then go back to the Spybot S&D section, and go to the search or destroy button, and Hit 'check for problems'.

When it gets done, click 'fix problems'.

Its probably not a bad idea to 'immunize' either.

That should do it ;)
