I'm a big softie!
Watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre today. I was all excited! Horror flick! Yay! ... Only it really wasn't... Yay that is. It was SAD! I was all depressed!

Note to self: No more horror flicks for Summer that have the label "based on a true story." Check.

Current Mood: depressed depressed
Current Music: Ricky Martin - She's All I Ever Had

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was excellent. The remake sucked. While the original was just that, very unique and original, the remake just rehashed what's been done many many many times before. There was no substance. There was really nothing. It was all about style. This is what we get for pulling directors and producers from the music video industry.

Also, "inspired by a true story" means that the original writers read something, and it gave them this idea. The events never really happened. It's based on the murders of Ed Gein. So is "Psycho" and "Silence of the Lambs." While the events in the movies never really happened, the writers got an idea from reading about Ed Gein.

That site has the whole gruesome tale. It's pretty interesting and informative.
