And he said I was an old geezer when it came to video games.

Awhile back, I got into an argument with coldfury as we headed to the gym. In fact, part of this argument occurred in the gym, where we promptly ignored everyone who raised their eyebrows at us. But the two of us arguing over things is nothing new to you, gentle readers. (I mean, seriously, he likes Marvel Zombies. The man needs to have a stern talking to about things here and there.)

But anyway, the conversation basically went like this:

Him: You should play [Enter video game here, for I forgot what he suggested... it was probably that crappy Kingdom Hearts game.]
Me: Ugh, no thank you.
Him: You never try anything new anymore.
Me: Well, that's because most things recently out are crap.
Him: *Raises his eyebrow*
Me: That's right. I remember back in the day when graphics were two-dimensional, cared more about plot and game time than graphics, and more importantly, I was able to talk for characters without bastard voice actors coming in to ruin my fun. (You haven't heard anything until you've listened to me talk for the characters in Parasite Eve. *Puffs out chest* I should've been a voice actress for anime, I tell you.)
Him: ... You realize that you just stated you were an old lady, right?
Me: Excuse me?
Him: You just said the words 'in my day'. Put that with walking up five hills barefoot and you're my grandparents.
Me: *Incredulous look* Hey! I am not old!
Him: You so are. You're an old-timer gamer. Don't want to accept the new-wave of gaming excellence.
Me: Okay, look. Just because most of it sucks does not mean I can't appreciate some of it. Hell, I like World of Warcraft, don't I?
Him: Uh-huh. What else? *Eyes me* That's been done recently.
Me: I like Soul Calibur III!
Him: Okay, fighting games. Anything else?
Me: ... ... ... I am not old, damnit!

Well, it went on from there, but that's the crux of it.

Anyway, I have a point for all this rambling! Really!

I played X-Men Legends II: Age of Apocalypse with coldfury a couple times now (almost through Act I) and am loving it! Yup, current graphics, voice acting, and all. (Though, dear GODS, Rogue's voice actress needs to be shot.)

coldfury and I couldn't help not checking out what all the possible combination bonuses are for the four-some team-up (you get a special bonus if you put certain people together in your team). After realizing that none of those combos worked for us, we found something even better - cheat codes for Iron Man and Deadpool! (Pfft, who wants to actually go through the effort of unlocking them when you can do it yourself right at the beginning of your first play-through?)

Anyway, for those that are curious, Chris and I each get two of the four team members to play around with. I've chosen Storm and Deadpool, he went with Iron Man and Cyclops (no, I'm not sure why he likes Cyclops... I really really don't). So, basically, when I'm done using up all of Deadpools energy from blasting his guns at everything, I switch over to Storm and start lightening bolting the guys he missed! (Plus, I get to not only fly, but also teleport! I win!)

Summer is pleased. Summer keep.
