40 books in one year... so close!
I really tried to get the 50 books read in one year goal... but yeah, 2009 was pretty busy mostly sucking. (Though, yes, some fabulous things did occur as well. ^^)

6) Vampire Diaries: The Awakening by L.J. Smith (Nostalgic ^_^)
7) Vampire Diaries: The Struggle by L.J. Smith (Nostalgic ^_^)

40) Rose of the Prophet: The Paladin of the Night by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman (^_^)

Favorite new novel read in 2009: Jane's Warlord by Angela Knight. It's a paranormal romance novel with AWESOME sex scenes (if you can ignore one repeated word choice that just... didn't work) and some lovely woman power grr!

Most disliked novel read in 2009: Dark Defender by Alexis Morgan. Paranormal romance that had BORING sex scenes, was cheesy as hell, and so sexist that I wanted to fling the book across the room!

Amount of re-read novels in 2009: 9

Author I read the most novels from in 2009: Rachel Caine (5 novels)

Current Mood: nostalgic nostalgic

Oh man, the Rose of the Prophet books! I loved those. On the one hand I'm not a big fan of the "I learned about Middle Eastern culture from Wikipedia" sort of setting, but I felt like Matthew was one of the earliest queer characters I remember reading about in fantasy, and more to the point, he's... kind of believable and adorable without being in your face.

Yes, I'm loving this series! I have about 100 pages left of the third book. I hope I like the ending! *Crosses fingers*

I really love the relationship >_< Matthew has over Zohra and Khardan. He is definitely a very believable character... and adorable when he's not whining.
